i’ve been told many times that my endurance for churning words equals that of an ultra marathon runner. it’s not something which i consciously try to achieve, really, but rather something which happens naturally. i’ve also been told that because of the length of my entries, most of my visitors are unable to read them in their entirety. i don’t quite mind that they stop midway. i am only a little conscious about my readers, and in fact i must say that i have no idea at all who they may be. i know there are a few linked to my blog, but there are more -- lots more -- who drop by now and again, only to tell me many many days later something which i have no recollection writing.

so i guess this is a little fresh. at least i know now the average number of words i produce in as little as 10 minutes, or as long as a few hours. yes, some entries have taken me that long: half an hour each time, sometimes several times a day, or in the course of even a few days. there are times when i write fairly deliberately, or in the manner popularized by james joyce and virginia woolf. i miss being the voracious reader i once was.
